Thanks to Michael Calore at Monkey Bites for pointing out this really cool web app that lets you convert pretty much any type of file – online, and free.

Media Convertseems toconvert anything: audio files, video files, images, presentations, documents, spreadsheets – you name it.

There is no installation of software and no registration needed. All you need to do is select the input and output formats, and submit the form. Voila!

According to Michael Calore’s blog, he has tested it and it’s terrific.

“It kicks ass at audio MP3 conversion. I tested it out by converting a .wav file to MP3, and I found out it uses LAME 3.96 to encode the MP3. It also gives you the option of choosing a bitrate and CBR or VBR before you encode. If you’re an audio junkie, those are very nice options to have.”
